Dearly beloved, Someone shared this story in relation to today’s celebration. Do permit me to share it with you. In a particular kingdom, after the death of the king, the Prince had to choose a wife before his coronation as the next king. The Prince made it open for every young girl in the kingdom to exhibit her qualities and draw his attention. Several young girls started wearing sexy clothes to seduce the Prince but he was not moved.  Some began to wear wonderful hairstyles but the Prince was not moved.

Sir 35:12-14, 16-18; 2nd Tm 4:6-8,16-18; Lk 18:9-14

… do you leave His presence, justify or not

 

Dearly beloved, permit me to spend yet another week reflecting on another dimension of how we can obtain the fruits of our prayer. That is what I believe we are being introduced to in the gospel. One ingredient to a good prayer whether private or communal is humility.

Homily for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Amos 6:1, 4-7,   1 Timothy 6:11-16,   Luke 16:19-31

 

Dearly Beloved, there is this story of a University Professor who was travelling by boat, and few minutes after sail, he asked sailor, "Do you know Biology? Ecology? Geography? Morphology? Zoology? The sailor answered "No" to all of these. And the professor got angry and replied, “What do you know on earth? You will die of illiteracy."
